More ugly autographs contend for crown
Posted by Steve
Thanks to faithful blog read Dave Bailey, I've got two more autographs that are strong contenders for the worst signatures on the planet crown.
First, I don't think anyone can dispute that Vernand Morency has a terrible signature. It's great that he can write the first letter of his first name, but he doesn't need to flaunt it like that. It's very bad and could be considered for the worst, but since he does have one recognizable letter I'll let it slide.
The next one is boxing promoter Cedric Kushner. Now, I'm not sure if this should even qualify in the contest or as a signature for that matter. It's more of a coloring or shading than a signature. You can make your own choice about though. I'd love to hear what you think.

Let me raise this question, possibly naive: why in the world would anyone collect Cedric Kushner's autograph?
When I first saw the image I thought it was a Ron Jeremy card, and beyond the absurdity of the potential existence of porn star trading cards, I thought it might be valuable.

Hi Lute,
Excellent question. I think the KAYO Boxing sets were a neat set for boxing fans and it marked the only appearance on a card for several boxers, referees, and promoters. It think Al Bernstein even has a card. If someone was looking to get as many cards signed in the set as possible, they had to get Cedric. A few people have commented on his appearance to Ron Jeremy which just kind of adds to the laughs. Ironically, they spelled his name wrong on the card adding a "K" to Cedric that should not be there.
The dude gets one card made of him and the pick a bad photo(arguably) and spell his name wrong. Bummer.
Ironically, I do not collect much boxing material. What I do dabble in once in a while is oddball things that make me laugh, and this Cedric card foots the bill. I have collected alot of autographs and this was the worst one I have ever seen.
The laughs when I have shown this card to people have already made it well worth the acquisition.
What is even funnier is the story of how he signs . Cedric obviously gets alot of grief from collectors after he has signed an item in this manner. So, now before he signs , he first pulls out his drivers license and shows people that this is his legal signature so collectors know what they are getting.
On a side note, Cedric is doing pretty well nowadays. I believe that he does not have any pending Federal charges against him and recent gastric bypass surgery reportedly has been successful.

As far as Superstars go, honorable mention to Greg Maddux, Ichiro, and Manny Ramirez.
For NFL quarterbacks,it is kind of a dog fight, but we will throw a bone to Michel Vick who leads the pack....
